Silver could be sitting on something, kind of facing away with his arms crossed, looking at his Totodile playing happily with some other small PokΓ©mon. That would kinda fit his personality in my opinion, not caring too much for his PokΓ©mon.
And I understand the battle background thing, it's your work so it doesn't hurt to save some time and reuse it in something else.

And speaking of uneven, I thought they shouldve made a new guy character too OTL. Besides Red (who had brown hair too ) from FRLG, every male protag has had black hair.

She kinda seems like she was just some regular rancher girl who went on this wild johto journey, which I think makes her kinda cool!
I disagree about Gold though, I think he looks awesome. Plus he has blue hair...not black..

Ah, good point. Marill and Togepi would both be cute. Maybe Togepi would be a little better, considering the colors in the girl's outfit, and Togepi does match those, but the bright white would stand out nicely and add to the composition.
That color theory course I took a few years ago has gotten me way to into colors.

i didnt like the girl's outfit when i first saw it but it gradually grew on me. i really like her hat now xD

I think the Chikorita looks cute. For the girl player, all I really see wrong are her left fingers touching her hat. They seem like her hand is bent awkwardly and her fingers don't have a lot of detail in them.
Other than that I love this!

Haha yeah the fingers suck, but ah well...I already spent hours on like one hand and that was the best I could come up with! It's hard working in such a small space.
