Description
First concept of my Spider Pit scene from the original King Kong from 1933(and yes yes the sequence it's lost today or not even existed at all, anyway).--Some Hystory--
The "Spider Pit Sequence" reference a missing scene from the original King Kong, the one from 1933, it is said that this scene never existed, but there is the models and behind the scenes, animated by the late(and absolutely fantastic) W. O'Brien with the models sculped by M. Delgado.
Now, to this days there is no real truth about on what happened on this famous sequence, people seem to contraddict each others when discussing this topic, but.. There is at least three possible theories on why this scene was cut:
-It was deemed too graphics for the public of the 30s, some sources reports that the folks who seen the original cut with the Spider Pit scenes almost fainted
-Cooper said this sequence stop the pace of the movieÂ
-The scene was never shoot, but this seem unlikely, the models exist and even the set itself, it also be noted that in various interview many cast members said this sequence was done (both Cooper and Schoedsack also O'Brien himself)
