Living on their homeworld before Apokolips and New Genesis, Uxas and His half-brother Izaya the Inheritor, later known as Highfather, were competing for line of the throne. Uxas was always jealous of Izaya, as he feared he would be ruler instead of him, thus he began seeking out the power of the Omega Effect. Izaya warned Uxas not to take the power as it may kill him but to contain it. Once he located the power, Izaya and Uxas fight which resulted in obtaining the Omega Effect and Highfather to start New Genesis. Now as Darkseid, he swore to kill Highfather until the day has come, until he finds out he has the Anti-Life Equation.
