"I'm trying to keep you aliv...""I'M DYING MASON!"
The stonemason stopped... And let the cleric stand. "You're dying... And didn't tell us..."
Syrus thought for a moment...
"I never meant for you both to find out this way..." He stated.
"Ar... Are you sure..." Mason asked him
"I..." Father Syrus started to fall with a dizzy spell
"Father Syrus... Just hold on..." Mason quickly reached over...
Meanwhile... with Orchid, Smith, and Jay...
They waited anxiously for Mason to return. Jay soon saw Mason in the distance "They're back!" He exclaimed with joy...
Orchid ran over as fast as she could "Mason! Father! I'm glad to see you both are safe..." She noticed the sad expression on Mason's face...
She started to worry again "Things can go back to normal now... We... Just need to relocate to another village... We can start a new... This time with Smith and Jay with us... The five of us..."
"Orchid..." Mason stopped her, he couldn't bear to hear another word of her plea...
"Father... I'm afraid to tell you that..." He tried to say...
"I'll tell her son..." The old cleric interrupted him "My daughter... My life is coming to an end..." He told her in a calm tone.
She was shocked at what she had just heard. "But... You can't just..."
She knew the balance of life and death, it's one of the first lessons of being a cleric she was taught. But the pain was still real and hurt more now than ever. Orchid cried as she, Mason, and Syrus hugged each other.
Days later, they made a final resting place for Father Syrus... Leaving behind the last Blue Orchid they had as a parting gift...
(Not going to lie, this last part made me tear up 😭 also there is one last part and the story is over... And I can start on 'The Evil Within'... Then 'Bun in the Oven'...)
