Description
This work is just one of a long series of graffiti installations I plan on producing by pasting harmless stickers on my travels. This body of work is the product of my childhood, combining my favorite hobby, retro arcade games, with the influence of my grandma's, collecting gnomes. When she became very ill, she made certain that I would receive a gnome from her collection- but not just any gnome. I was to inherit "Peer Baekgaard" (She named him Gabriel), the very first gnome recorded to be sited by a roman soldier in A.D 470. I never understood the fascination with garden gnomes until I looked through my grandmother's book, Gnomes by Wil Huygen, which really presented to me all of the mythology associated with natural, that is nature, mystery.
Sometimes things happen that we can't explain, so wouldn't it be a little more fun if we believed that Gnomes did it? Enjoy
