At the top of a tall mountain, underneath the dark sky, and awakening on Walpurgis Night, a threatening being of evil emerges at the mountaintop, and with his dormant state over, he is ready to bring chaos and madness on this particular evening. This imposing demon, standing atop Bald Mountain, made his mark on animated history after he debuted in Disney's 1940 film "Fantasia". This movie already pushed itself to the limit with many of its elements, whether it be its animation or depiction of its many other stories, and this demon's involvement in the segment "The Night on Bald Mountain" helped make the movie as impactful as it could be. This villainous evil-doer, often regarded as one of Disney's greatest villains...is Chernabog.

Now, compared to some other Disney villains both before and after, Chernabog may not appear as much of a threat, as he doesn't interact with any heroes like Mickey Mouse, but when you get down to it, Chernabog is like a representation of evil itself, with how he serves as the master for "the forces of evil" that Deems Taylor describes before the segment starts. Even after he's forced into his dormant state with coming of dawn and the sound of the church bells, that doesn't mean he's defeated for good. If anything, he'll be back for the next Walpurgis Night, ready to bring more chaos. Combining all of this together really helps make Chernabog a truly iconic Disney villain, and someone who helped add onto the film's already awesome scale.
