Flabbergasted! - Part ThreePart 3 “I was hoping to surprise you, but I guess you were already up here.” Robbin rubbed at the torn knees of her jeans as she stood. Cat honestly couldn’t be sure if they’d been torn before she’d arrived or if it was a result of her dramatic entrance. She retrieved her tote bag from the floor and slung it over her shoulder. Cat’s hand started to relax back from her chest, having gone there when Robbin had startled her, but her pulse was still rushing in her ears. “Robbin! What the hell are you doing?” “You didn’t think I’d let you spend Halloween alone in some spooky old house, did you? Besides, my horoscope said that today I would find gratification from being impulsive.” She looked around the room and whistled through her teeth. “Wow, this place is amazing! Got anything to eat?” Cat lifted her hand to rub at her eyes. Staying mad at Robbin was impossible even when she gave Cat plenty of opportunities to practice. After a moment a weary smile pulled at her lips. “You know, you could have texted me. And yes, you dork. Julia left the kitchen stocked up.” “Awesome! You get the snacks and I’ll get this bad boy set up.” She reached into her bag and pulled out a large, rectangular, wooden box. She beamed as she held it up. The wood had been stained a deep red and written across the lid in elegant letters was the word “Ouija.” “Tonight is going to be the best Halloween ever!”...
