A sea of blurry faces. Each one meshing with the next in an indistinguishable mess of countless strangers.
There stands the Wanderer among them. Unseen. Unheard. Alone in a crowd of people they knew they would never belong to.
A sea of souls that would never know an entity that reaches out, trying to learn from them, observing guarding.
They would never know, never even suspect that their history, their crafts were so coveted by a ceaseless spirit. Not unless they were among the lost.
X stands there, watching as the humans part around them, ignorant of their temporary time on this earth.
Like them. Impermanent. Always changing. So dependant on a world that they desperately try to find a place in.
A gnarl of something dark lingered in their chest as they watched. They can't let this disappear. They can't.
They won't.
