Description Fourth in the 'Zelda Temple Muse' series, and my favorite so far ^^

Getting straight to it, this girl here is the embodiment of the Shadow element, and, like the Temple, doesn't have a lot in the way of black, goth, bloodiness, ect. Instead of a typical representation of the darkest side of Hyrule, the Shadow Temple instead presents images to startle and create unease, such as clostrophibic hallways, haunting bell tones, gargoyles, screaming statues, and of course, zombie-like creatures. The four 'arms' coming out of her back allude specifically to a mini-boss from the Shadow Temple as well of the Bottom of the Well which has many long, white, blood-stained arms to reach out of the ground to catch and hold you motionless. The bells on her shawl were some minor symbolism for the Ghost Boat near the end of the Temple, and the black feathers on her right wrist are for the constant 'Evil Bird' theme that runs throughout the design. On her chest is the emblem from the Shadow Medallion, and the symbol on her blindfold and loin-cloth is the infamous Eye of Truth. This is also the reason she is blinded. You can't get anywhere in the darker dungeons of the game without the ability to look beyond the naked eye and seek the Truth. Unfortunately, the Truth usually reveals a zombie inches from your face.

A nocturne, aside from the obvious Latin root being 'nocturnal', is an instrumental piece (usually for the piano) that captures a pensive and dreamy mood. Her pose suggests action as well as agony, a constant limbo in her role as the Shadow Muse.

It took me forever to find a background that I liked, and eventually settled for a screen-cap from the actual game. She stands before the lit torches at the door to the Shadow Temple. Needless to say, I did not design the background. It's a screen capture.

She was going to be wearing the Hover Boots, the item aquired and primarily used in the Shadow Temple, but the design clashed with the rest of her outfit, so I stuck with Sheikah bandages. The Sheikah are the inhabitants of the Kakariko Village, which houses the Shadow Temple. This was the only tribute to Impa, the Shadow Sage that I included, since I've been trying very hard to not just draw the respective Sages of each Element.

Done in Photoshop with mah tablet. I'm tired X.x

This is incredibly creepy. It actually scares me a little.

about this quote, "You can't get anywhere in the darker dungeons of the game without the ability to look beyond the naked eye and seek the Truth. Unfortunately, the Truth usually reveals a zombie inches from your face.", I wanted to thank you for the funny warning. I'm playing OoT on the Collector's edition disk, and so far I've gotten to the bottom of the well. Very funny. I'd probably scream my head off if that actually happened...

you could mistake the muse in this pic for the boss monster of the shadow temple if you never played the game befor. this temple was my favorite with all horror and death theme. the boss was weird but entertaining and the song drew you right into the theme. the bells on the shaw area nice reference to an interesting part of the temple. the tattoos on her are cool. but i think this muse needs a hug. like i need to say it anymore but you did a disturbingly good job on this muse
