Description
I started this a while ago, back when there was a surge of Pokemon 'variants' based on things like regions, pokemon and seasons. Given I work at the rate of a drowsy sloth, it's expected that I took a bit longer. And I'm glad I did, because I'm really pleased with the end result which also taught me a bunch of things regarding rendering and layering digitally.
This is my take on a 'realistic' Silvally/Type:Full. Its built like a 'gryphon' but its previous evolution made me think: A Silvally is probably used to having something on it's head as a way to control sensory input; a bit like when a horse needs a blinder or a bird of prey needs a hood to keep calm and less stressed. But rather than an uncomfortable wooden box, it would wear some custom made, fitted armour it could also show off as a sign of its skill and power.
This particular variant, is named Dukes Mane due to how it's feather crest is done up to resemble the 'Plume' often seen on noble knight's helmets. The armor itself is a mishmash of Gothic French design, fantasy 'french' armour, like that seen in Dragon Age and The Witcher video games and the kind of armour you'd see on a parade horse. The braids are its long neck fur; braided up to avoid getting tangled in the clasps and chainmail layered underneath. The cloth and chainmail could also help smooth and blunt its back and leg scutes (or scales).
Finally, this Silvally has it's Flame Memory disk equipped so as to give it's crest it's bright red appearence.
War Barding. Its the new thing in Pokemon Fashion!
(I've got a Hollywood/scifi theme one drawn up but what are some other iconic video game armours you can think of?)

This piece is just stunning, I love every detail of this, it's just so inspiring! I'd love to learn how to do different textures like that for my own pictures.
