Description
Warning: Full view is 3400 pixels wideThis is the Hawk, a 3 wheeled vehicle I designed earlier this year. For more info read the blurb just above the final render on the right hand side.
This presentation panel was done for an exhibition. The origional is 15,000 x 4,000 pixels, so thought I should resize it before uploading, haha.
This has been printed at a size of 35cm x 120cm, and is mounted and sitting nicely in an exhibition room right next to an LCD screen showing several animations explaining the concept.
Renders shown are done with Cinema4D, and all post production and compositing is done using Photoshop CS2.
Thanks for stopping by.

ok, nice image, but i noticed 2 things i feel i need to point out:
1.
your positioning of the engine would place that bit right behind the driver's head, and according to the render, theres a hole-riddled plate of metal there, wouldnt this cause the driver to hear the engine running/get deaf as result?
2.
4 stroke, 999cc engine, not build "for the future" then?

The Ariel Atom has the air intake of its (if wanted) turbo charged Hayabusa engine right behind the drivers head, sucking it in. The noise is deafening aswell, according to Jeremy Clarkson. Sounds like great fun.

1. The metal behind the drivers head is not a grate, or you're right it'd be bloody noisy. But good point, it'd definately need some sound proofing in there.
2. It's designed for todays market. Theres nothing futuristic about this vehicle except the appearance of it. It could easily be adapted for a future market with a hydrogen/electrican/etc engine.

I don't think I've ever seen an image that was 1.5MB. Flash movies, yes, but not images. This is huge, and I again applaud you for your wonderful design. If this vehicle were ever produced, and I won the lottery, I would definitely buy it.

1.5mb is nothing! The full version which is 15,000px wide is a Jpeg that's 10.9mb. The .psd of this is somewhere over 100mb...
Thanks for the nice compliment mate. Awfully nice of ya

Nice work! It was interesting to follow the models.
As far as the design goes, I guess what I've been missing here is some hint of a suspension system in the backside.
I know everything must already been thought of, and I don't mean it from the realism angle. I mean the design itself should exhibit an axis, pivot or suspension system when it is so open in the back - in my opinion.
i do think it made some serious progress since the earlier models. Nice poster, too!

Yes... Unfortunately the rear has been rushed, hence the lack of rear-facing shots, haha. I ran out of time when revamping the rear end of this before the exhibition, so ended up just making it look alittle prettier than it used to.
I had planned to make the suspension and shocks exposed, the tyre thicker, and more metal / gears exposed to make it more 'GRRR'.
