All traces of her neck were removed down to her collar bones. The doctor had warned her (or was it reassured her?) that amputating that much would make reversing the procedure impossible. She followed through. She couldn’t lie to herself - there were some days that she regretted having her head permanently separated from her body. But most days were as perfect as she hoped they would be. She was not sure if her boyfriend hiding her head from her made this a good or a bad day.
