↠ PERSONALITY ↞Strong, wreckless, informal and care-free, Maska can tend to be somewhat immature.
Given his position of leadership earlier than expected, he has yet to embrace his new role and reflect the wise leadership of his father. He has a more contemporary mindset than his traditional father, and has a more relaxed way of approaching issues. He is very stubborn and careless in his young age, and often fails to see the bigger picture and make wise decisions that benefit the tribe. The pressure of leadership overwhelms him at times as he has yet to adjust to this relatively new position that makes him responsible for so many others. He will often wander off alone to clear his head, much to the disdain of his advisers. Being chief was never quite a responsibility he wanted. He longs to hang around with friends or wander off on adventures, which leads him astray- only to be dragged back by counsel members to tend to his chiefly duties. He is easily frustrated, and has a hair-trigger when it comes to rash decisions, which is not always the best for the tribe. Some members do not see him fit as a leader, and fear his immaturity and hasty decision-making will only lead to trouble for the entire tribe. Secretly, Maska seeks approval, and is truly bothered by his tribe's lack of trust in him.
☼ LORE ☼Maska is the newly appointed chief of the Tala Tribe.
Since he was born, he was destined to be his father's successor when he became of age. After his mother died giving birth, his father and the counsel became his sole caretakers. Groomed to take over since he could walk, Maska always had a sort of dislike of the formalities expected of him. He greatly preferred playing in the mud with the other pups to learning about political formalities relations with neighboring tribes. He had hardly turned two when his father suddenly fell ill. In his old age, the chief succumbed to his illness in a mere few days, and suddenly the tribe turned to Maska for guidance.
The young male felt vastly unprepared for his new position, and the pressure of being responsible for an entire tribe was crushing. While it was overwhelming, Maska saw his new position as a way to better the tribe and conform them to the changing times. Up until the old chief's death, the tribe were stuck in the ancient ways, locked in old traditions. Maska had always disagreed with his father, and had a contemporary way of viewing the world compared to his father's traditionalism. The tribe had been nomadic since its conception, but upon finding a decent space of land in the mountains, Maska made his first big decision to make roots in the one spot. Of course, this angered the tribe who had been living a nomadic lifestyle for generations. In his mind, the tribe ALWAYS had something to complain about. They didn't see him fit as a leader due to his immaturity, and he knew that. Little to his knowledge, thanks to him not listening to his advisers regarding other tribes, they had settled close to another tribe with whom they have had very strained relationships for years, which could soon lead to trouble...
