Description Whew, I finished it!
This is my entry for the contest hosted by ~StrayM0nster and ~salShepherd . I was scared I'd miss the deadline, but I did it!

The work I've chosen to replicate here is "Pygmalion," painted by Jean-Baptiste Regnault, in 1786. (Shown here: [link] )

Unfortunately, I didn't even have much of a "deep" reason for choosing the piece...I just liked the idea of 6 as a Pygmalion figure, and since I'm a 6x3 shipper (tho you can't tell the twin in the picture), I put 3 in place of Galatea.
Also, I think I know how Pygmalion feels--the lonely artist who wishes his piece were real so he could befriend/court it, or becoming so invested and drawn to their work that they wish it were real...weird as it sounds)...

I took a few liberties with the piece--6's pose isn't exactly like Pygmalion's, nor is 3's pose exactly like the statue; 6 has made a painting instead of a sculpture, etc.

I was looking for Pygmalion pictures when I saw this and I had to check it out because it looked like characters from 9 (which it was) I saw this movie and loved it but it seems so unknown. Great art.

This is really nice, I like this concept a lot. Though it may visually stray somewhat from the original work, Pygmalion's investment in a nonexistant entity of his own creation is something that, I feel, would be very in character for 6.

Fantastic! ALthough I think 6's pose could be more like the guy he represents from the painting, with his arm a little higher.

I personally love the changes you made to the piece. I feel you've captured the spirit of the contest, which seems to be taking the FEEL of a piece and translating it into the 9verse. And you've done so splendidly here!

Poor 6.
