PERSONAL INFORMATIONPersonality:
+ Debonair
(Caspian has a certain charming aura to him. He has a large smile and a confident stride that seemingly attracts dragons to him. They all want to be around him despite some of his unusual hybrid features. In fact, part of his allure comes from his unique features, many of which not recognizing him as a hybrid. Some view him as an ‘exotic’ Shipwrecker.)
+ Resourceful
(As a former pirate and a dragon abandoned by his family, Caspian had to be very quick-witted in order to survive. He took advantage of whatever was around himself, whether that be stealing from civilians or building shacks he would temporarily live in until his eventual adoption.)
+ Venturesome
(Caspian’s life as a pirate made him become much more reckless and daring as an individual. He’s not afraid to take risks and if anything finds them enjoyable. There’s a sort of thrill to pirating and narrowly escaping death.)
= Sarcastic
(Caspian has a very snarky and sarcastic attitude. Typically he comes off as very playful, teasing with dragons, other times he comes off as very bitter. It can be sometimes difficult to pinpoint whether he’s making fun remarks or bitter ones.)
= Crafty
(Caspian’s former position made it so that he achieved what he wanted through clever means. This includes escaping from dangerous situations by his wit alone. )
= Distant
(Unfortunately, due to his impulsive habit cannibalizing dragons, Caspian attempts to distance himself from others. He will interact with dragons, maybe go out for drinks, however he will keep himself from getting...too close with them. He doesn’t want another incident.)
- Regretful
(To say the least, Caspian feels immense guilt for cannibalising one of his crewmates; his former partner. Whenever he gives into his urges, he experiences a brief period of bliss before the guilt starts to weigh down on him. )
- Hostile
(At times, Caspian may come off as hostile, especially those who try to get closer with him. He will actively try to make them back off, going as far as to hurt them while only giving vague reasons as to why they shouldn’t be friends. Caspian will especially get aggressive once you ask him about his tattoos or his past.)
- Unrestrained
(Due to his Abyssal ancestry, Caspian frequently has cannibalistic urges. There’s something about the taste and texture of Shipwrecker’s and other dragons that entices him. He can’t help himself. Once he gets a good taste of blood, Caspian completely loses control of himself and will seek out to eat the victim.)

History:
TW | MENTIONS OF CANNIBALISM AND GORE
465 A.E.D
Aegean was a Shipwrecker who had no intentions of settling down in life. She was an explorer, an adventurous Shipwrecker seeking to map out the entire ocean and discover all of its secrets. Incidentally, during one of her adventures into the depths, she came across a curious Abyssal Tidekeeper. Aegean was rightfully terrified as the ghostly dragon swum closer and closer to her. Without a second thought she lashed out at him in self defense...only to later realize that the Abyssal didn’t mean any harm. Instead, he was a curious Abyssal, which was quite unusual. This immediately piqued Aegean’s interest with him. Over the course of a few days she would continue to come back to the area where she gradually got to know the Abyssal better and eventually had him surface.
The Abyssal later was introduced as Melancholy, and a relationship quickly blossomed between the two. Aegean was attracted by his unique personality. He was quite gentle for an Abyssal, cowardly even; a complete opposite to Aegean’s own personality, yet in a way they complimented each other. Their meetings weren’t very frequent simply due to the fact that constantly resurfacing, even in the darkest of nights, was a painful experience for Melancholy. Despite the inconveniences they had, the two maintained a strong bond...until Caspian’s birth.
Initially, Melancholy expressed excitement upon finding out that they were going to have a child. In fact, the both of them were excited to start their own family, however upon Aegean bringing Caspian to Melancholy, something happened. He bared his teeth at the unfamiliar dragonet, fins pinned back against his head as he suddenly lashed out at them both, attempting to snap up Caspian in his jaws. In the past there were a few instances where Melancholy lashed out, however the most it ever did was cause some strain and tension between the two for a brief while. Aegean never saw him as a legitimate threat until the day he tried to eat his own son.
Eventually Aegean had to break her relationship off with Melancholy. She could not risk having her son eaten by the Abyssal, nevertheless have Melancholy possibly turn on her. The Abyssal was desperate to apologize for his reaction, however he eventually agreed on them parting ways as upset as it made him. From there on Aegean never saw him again.
466-470 A.E.D
While Aegean was happy to have Caspian, he was detrimental to her passion of adventuring. She hoped that with Melancholy they would be able to support each other whilst also exploring the sea. Afterall, Abyssal Tidekeeper’s were nomadic and that complimented Aegean’s own lifestyle. However with Melancholy out of the picture and Aegean being a single mother, her only choice seemed to be settling back down in her birth place; the Drifting City.
At the time, Aegean lived in a houseboat, supplying traders with various materials and treasures she found over the course of her life as an explorer. One trader especially caught her interest, a reserved trader named Kuroshio. The two almost instantaneously hit it off, however Kuroshio seemed to be repelled by Caspian’s mere existence. The dragonets teeth were far too large for his mouth. He was intimidating, yet Kuroshio quickly brushed this aside and gradually overcame his worries.
-
Caspian was an observant yet a very rambunctious dragon in his own ways, that being constantly teething and ruining his parents trading vessel. It seemed like their family was only improving despite Caspian’s unintentional destructive nature. And then Aegean had twins, Ebb and Euphotic.
It was known that Caspian had a rather ravenous diet, however neither of the parents thought that he would ever eat another dragon, nevertheless his own siblings. It came as a shock to them once they stumbled upon Caspian covered in blood. The limp body of Euphotic was dangling from his mouth, neck twisted in an unnatural manner while Ebb was dismembered, laying in front of his talons. The young dragonet seemed unfazed and crunched down on the neck, a horrific snapping sound echoing across their ship. Even when his parents tried to pull the bodies away from Caspian he wouldn’t budge, only biting down harder. By the time the parents managed to retrieve the bodies they were horribly mangled and twisted in unnatural positions, completely unrecognizable as Shipwrecker babies.
After the incident, Aegean abandoned Caspian at the docks. She couldn’t raise a monster in her home. In fact she shouldn’t have given birth to the dragonet in the first place. He had no place in the world, and yet he existed. While deep inside of her she cared for him, the lingering fear of him turning on her and her partner influenced her final decision. Once again Aegean completely cut off a dragon from her life, this time her own son.
471-486 A.E.D
Caspian made quite the reputation within the Drifting City, that being a bad one. He was known for stealing fresh fish and other food from trading stands, a nuisance to merchants and everyone by the docks. It seemed like he completely detached himself from his past. While initially confused and scared, unable to comprehend why he was in an unfamiliar environment, it eventually dawned on him that his family wasn’t coming back. He did something wrong...yet what? It didn’t matter anymore to him, instead he focused on surviving in the bustling docks.
At some point Caspian made the wrong move of stealing from a pirate, however instead of being punished once he was caught, the captain took great interest in the young and unusual dragonet. The captain recognized him for his risky and cunning nature and took him underneath his wing. From there on, Caspian was introduced to the crew of the ship The Trident Corsair. They were a powerful group of pirates under the command of Captain Pacific, and quickly Caspian grew very fond of the crew.
Over the course of thirteen years, Caspian grew up within the crew and gradually climbed up the ranks. He was a part of the crew, a part of their family. He actively participated in raids once he was older, however in his younger years he mostly took part in pickpocketing other pirates or cleaning up their ship. It was a lively life, everything that he could have asked for, although something was missing. The food didn’t satisfy him, however he attempted to push his temptations away.
As he continued to grow older, the crew continued to flourish and more members joined, including a female Shipwrecker named Neap.
Neap and Caspian seemed to be attracted to each other the moment they first saw each other. The both of them were rather reckless and thrived in the pirate atmosphere and lifestyle. She saw past his odd appearance and saw him for what he truly was; a charming dragon who loved to tease and play around. Their love was passionate and intense, one could say that they were perfect for each other, yet this love didn’t last.
Unfortunately, it was only a matter of time before his cannibalistic tendencies finally took over, unable to be restrained any longer. While the two were alone, Caspian suddenly devoured her, Neap’s screams echoing through the ship and alerting the crew. By the time the crew arrived at his office, all that remained of Neap was a mutilated, bloody corpse. Caspian was over her body, shaky sobs escaping from him while he was covered in his partners blood. The crew was horrified, simultaneously feeling betrayed by Caspian. It was mutiny, a horrific instance of mutiny. It wasn’t a shock when he was forced to leave The Trident Corsair and live out his life as an outcast.
He was only spared from death because of Captain Pacific, who was a former father figure to Caspian and could only feel some sympathy, but not enough to keep the hybrid around.
487-501 A.E.D
As an outcast, Caspian wandered throughout the Whaletooth Archipelago, seeking for a position as a pirate or a merchant. Unfortunately, it seems like everyone has heard the rumors. Of course these rumors were greatly twisted and exaggerated. He wasn’t...bloodthirsty to say the least. Well, mostly. He didn’t mean to eat his partner. Thankfully, a particular captain didn’t seem to be repelled by these rumors. If anything, they only grew more interested in him.
Caspian was rather surprised when a dragonling decided to sit with him. The two were in a run down tavern in Bilge, one that Caspian frequently visited during his life’s lowest points. Most of the visitors and the owners themselves avoided sitting with him, so why did this unusual dragonling sit with him? It was only after they introduced themselves did Caspian realize who this was. Captain Chomper. While Caspian never encountered them in person, he heard the many gruesome tales surrounding the Captain and their crew.
He was reluctant and wary when Captain Chomper expressed interest in him joining their crew on The Bloody Butcher....and yet the Captain made it seem very appealing, especially to Caspian’s desires. Why try to resist his cannibalistic tendencies? Resisting only ended up in him eventually snapping and eating his partner. Perhaps if he could satisfy his cannibalistic tendencies, he could avoid another brutal instance, and Chomper was very persuasive. With a little bit more thought put into the offer, Caspian finally accepted and joined The Bloody Butcher.
Joining Captain Chomper wasn’t exactly a decision Caspian immediately regretted. The start was a bit rocky as guilt constantly hung over his head whenever he ate dragon flesh, however, he started to ignore the guilt he felt and caved into his instincts.
He was rather reluctant to be close with the Captain, nevertheless the crew after his former experiences with The Trident Corsair, however Chomper was practically hypnotic. He couldn’t ignore the high-spirited Captain. They had a charm quite unlike Captain Pacific who was more stern and...well, acted more like a traditional Captain. Chomper was, of course, a good Captain, but they were much more entertaining. It was difficult to distance himself from them, and soon enough he found himself actively engaging with Chomper, talking with them and laughing with them. Caspian almost felt at peace with the crew, if it wasn’t for the consistent guilt he felt.
Gradually, Caspian felt himself start slipping more into his cannibalistic tendencies. There were points where he felt as if he was completely losing himself, becoming a mindless flesh-eating dragon. As those moments became more prevalent, Caspian grew more and more terrified. He didn’t want these tendencies to completely engulf him and turn him into a monster. He didn’t want to turn into the mindless monster that ate Neap.
Occasionally he brought up these concerns to Chomper, however they were quickly dismissed. He wasn’t a mindless monster, he was “being true to himself.” The constant dismissive attitude of Chomper made Caspian feel uneasy, and so he finally decided to leave The Bloody Butcher without saying any goodbyes or giving any indication that he was planning to leave.
502-503 A.E.D
There was a period where Caspian wandered throughout the Drifting City, unsure of himself. He had already gone through two separate pirate groups, their symbols branded on his flesh, and that was not a good look. It made him look untrustworthy, as if he couldn’t be completely loyal to a single Captain, and yet he was on the lookout for another crew he could join. Afterall, he was a pirate and that’s all he could be. He couldn’t become a merchant, nor a fisherman. He had to move around. He had to do something. Besides his reputation would make it difficult to find any other position he could work under.
And so Caspian searched for another crew, despite his past and his tarnished reputation.
Eventually, he came across Captain Meridian who was searching for new recruits. Apparently The Dirty Pearl frequented many cities to find more recruits. He was rather reluctant to say the very least. Captain Chomper occasionally launched raids on Captain Meridian, and Caspian knew as he took part in a good few of them. They were enemies, although it seemed like Chomper merely saw them as an inconvenience. Nothing like the vehement hatred Meridian and her crew expressed towards Chomper.
It wasn’t any surprise that when Caspian appeared to sign up and join the crew, he was met with distaste. They didn’t take to his appearance very well, however, Meridian considered him after he explained his reasoning for leaving Chomper. Was that sympathy she expressed? Caspian didn’t exactly expect her to be so sympathetic and understanding, and yet the next thing he knew he was boarding one of The Dirty Pearl’s ships.
Unlike the other crews he joined, Caspian wasn’t exactly welcome in The Dirty Pearl. Many kept their distance from him and watched him warily, especially a human who seemed vaguely familiar. He attempted to ignore the disapproving looks and continue forward as the best crew member he could be, although he was held back by a few factors:
His incessant desire to eat dragon flesh, and Captain Chomper.
At some point The Dirty Pearl boarded one of Hovell’s ports, only for Caspian to be unpleasantly surprised when he bumped into his former Captain, Chomper. Despite expecting Chomper to be rather aggressive and angry, he was instead very polite with Caspian, going as far as to invite him to a tavern where they would catch up with each other. There they would talk, albeit Caspian feeling very tense.
And then Chomper struck up an offer. Give Chomper information from The Dirty Pearl, and they would give Caspian dragon flesh. They were aware of Caspian’s eating habits, and while Caspian wanted to reject the offer, he considered it. In the past avoiding his cannibalistic tendencies only resulted in disaster, however completely indulging in them also gave unpleasant results. Perhaps with some moderation, Caspian would be normal. He wouldn’t be such a menace.
And so Caspian agreed to the offer and ever since then he frequented a remote port every month to meet up with Chomper. He’s vaguely aware of the fact that Chomper is attempting to rope him back into their crew, however Caspian is desperate to moderate his cannibalistic tendencies.
RELATIONSHIPSCaptain Chomper (NPC): Caspian has mixed feelings towards Chomper. On one talon, his former Captain promoted his cannibalistic tendencies, yet on the other talon Chomper and Caspian were rather close. The two were almost like siblings, both with an odd appearance and an unfortunate diet. At the same time, Caspian does not see himself returning to The Bloody Butcher anytime soon.
Captain Meridian (NPC): While a fair Captain, Caspian unfortunately has a difficult time connecting with Meridian. He appreciates her letting him join The Dirty Pearl, yet at the same time years of perceiving her as a rival affects the way he views her. Furthermore, he can only feel guilty whenever speaking to her.
Whaler: Caspian does not like him, even when he was with Chomper. He feels as if Whaler is always judging him. He cannot be trusted.
Anarchy: A very unusual dragon, Caspian is on relatively good terms with her. He appreciated speaking with her even if she was a bit too overbearing.
Captain Pacific: Former father figure to Caspian, he appreciated him while he was with The Trident Corsair, especially because he gave him a home and a temporary family, nevertheless taught him necessary skills in order to thrive as a pirate.
Neap: Formerly Caspian’s partner, he dearly loved her, however he tries to avoid thinking about her. Whenever he does, the memory of him mutilating her body plagues his mind and he often has trouble sleeping, nevertheless focusing on certain tasks. He misses her and doesn’t know if he can ever settle down with another partner after that experience.
EXTRARumours/Reputation: Caspian has many bad rumors tied with him, the most prevalent of which being how he ‘slaughtered and ate an entire pirate crew’. This is a great exaggeration, however it has been detrimental to his life as now many dragons turn away from him. They are wary of him and whisper of the many atrocities he committed. Many dragons are afraid to hire him because of these rumors.

Family:
Aegean
(Mother):
Caspian remembers her as a very reckless, enthusiastic and energetic Skipwrecker who feared nothing, except for her own son. She loved and cared for Caspian dearly, however she was overwhelmed with what he did to her other children and had to let him go. At the time her emotions and fear got the best of her, just like with Melancholy, Aegean’s former partner.
Kuroshio
(Step Father):
A nervous and timid trader with exceptional smarts. Caspian couldn’t understand what his mother saw in him, but then again, it seemed like she had a specific taste for softer dragons.
Melancholy
(Biological Father):
An albino Abyssal Tidekeeper, Aegean recalled him often being very soft spoken with fins that drooped. He always seemed to have watery, red eyes that held an immense amount of sadness and loneliness; quite unusual for an Abyssal Tidekeeper. Of course, he still attempted to eat his own son. That was typical of an Abyssal.
Ebb and Euphotic
(Half siblings):
Ebb and Euphotic were two twins. Ebb was a very quiet and shy dragonet while Euphotic was much more reckless, taking after her mother’s personality.
The Trident Corsair:
The pirate group that took Caspian in as their own crew member. The group shaped his behavior and personality after years of pirating and eventually Caspian leading the ship. They were his family, especially the former captain, Pacific, an ancient dragon who Caspian looked up to.
Extra notes:
- Caspian’s pattern is mostly based on an opaline gourami.
- His teeth are too large for his mouth. Because of this, Caspian can never fully cover his teeth.
- Caspian’s claws are more hooked and sharper, a trait he inherited from his father.
- His teeth are stained due to his diet, of which being raw dragon flesh.
- Currently, Caspian is attempting to distance himself from his cannibalistic tendencies. He often eats seals and dolphins as a substitute to Shipwreckers although it’s not sufficient enough for him.
- Caspian has his former ship's symbol tattooed on his left talon.
- In some way Caspian is both bitter towards The Trident Corsair’s crew (for the spread of misleading rumors) as well as himself (for even killing his partner).
- Caspian has VERY strong jaws, good for crushing bone.
