Description

So I tried to brainstorm some ideas for the Mudkip like, then my mind immediately went to fossils. And with that said, I'm done with the Hoenn line. I'm actually kind of tempted to play Omega Ruby again...

---

Mudkip - Ground

Fossil Pokemon

Where there were once swamps and marshes, these Mudkip have adapted to living in the desert. Although they've lost their Water typing, these Mudkip still retain the ability to crush boulders larger than themselves. They spend the entire day buried in sand, and will come out at night or when it rains.

Marshtomp - Ground/Ghost

Trickster Pokemon

These Pokemon areΒ  mischievous, and will often steal food from unsuspecting Trainers and Pokemon. Their skin is rough and leathery, which helps it survive the harsh sandstorms in the desert. They can also swim in the sand if it has to. Despite being a trickster, it is said that these Marshtomp will help guide souls into the underworld.

Swampert - Ground/Ghost

Sand Fish Pokemon

These Pokemon can be spotted in ancient tombs, where they will build their nests. Outside of these nests, they will bury themselves in the sand in hopes of catching food. These Swampert are also found in museums, and have often helped trainers uncover many types of fossils. The wisp of Swampert's tail is said to be what's left of its tail fin, others argue that its actually Swampert's soul. Either way, it doesn't like its wisp being touched.
