Description
Now I bring my most recent creation: Vampainters! Here, Xibalba, La Muerte, Marigold and Alastor are depicted as a family of vampires form Transylvania, they have different names to fit their social status and where they come from. They have a similar background to that of their god counterparts, but in a different way. I learned from a friend that there are no actual Counts in Transylvania, the correct title is Lord or Lady. Anyway, I'll give a brief explanation of this au.
Here, vampire Xibalba met La Muerte, also a vampire (this is not a typical human/vampire romance as some of you might have assumed, don't take me wrong, but I don't like the Twilight saga), when he was out hunting and confused her for a maiden. Naturally, La Muerte was pissed and it took Xibalba a while to settle the misunderstanding. Despite the rather embarrassing circumstances under which they met, they felt a strong connection to each other, in Vampires (at least my version of them) it means they have found their soulmate.
Xibalba and La Muerte dated, and eventually they married.
As for their children, it works out all differently in vampires than humans. For starters, the gestation period for a vampiress lasts twelve months instead of nine, and during the pregnancy she cannot consume any blood, for the baby vampire must taste blood on his own accord, and not from the mother; i think vampires don't necessarily need blood to survive, but it's a need they have to remain strong, but they can eat human food too; pregnant vampiresses eat a lot to make up for the lack of blood. Childbirth is short, lasting only for a few hours, but it's very painful, and it's always the father of the child who helps his wife with labor and delivers the baby vampire, both because the mother is very possessive of her baby during the newborn stage, and so that the father will develop a special bond with his newborn.
Newborn baby vampires think they are one and the same with their mother, much like human babies, but vampires age by decades, so ten years are the equivalent of one human year in vampire aging. During the time the mother nurses her baby, she cannot drink a drop of blood either, but she must eat lots of food to produce milk necessary for the newborn. She nurses the little one until he turns ten (one year old in human equivalent). Vampires start to develop their basic powers (crawling on the walls, hypnotic gaze) early, and infants often crawl on the walls. The bat transformation usually comes at sixty (six) years old.
Usually, vampire couples only have one child, it's very rare to have a second, but whenever it happens, it is considered a good omen. Anyway, I'll talk about this version of Xibalba and La Muerte.
Lord Vitali Neglestir
Gender: male
Age: 450 years old (45)
Vitali Neglestir is the heir to the Neglestir dynasty due to the fact that his older brother, Zaharia, was disowned by their father Vampire Lord Adrian Neglestir due to some misunderstanding which was never fully understood even by Zaharia and Vitali themselves. Vitali may seem very serious, cruel and cold to outsiders and peasantry, but he is actually very refined, cultured and has the etiquette and grace to fit in both human and vampire aristocracy, though he considers humans inferior and would rather treat fellow vampires. Vitali is a very loving husband and devoted father, and can even be quite dorky around his family. He is a very skilled horseman, organist and swordsman, and his favorite type of blood is between 30 and 50 years. He inhabits the Neglestir Castle with his wife and children.
Lady Clarisa Neglestir
Gender: female
Age: 380 years old (38)
Previously Clarisa Vasilesca, Clarisa married into the Neglestir clan though her marriage to Lord Vitali Neglestir. She is famous for her unusual beliefs for a woman during their time; she is strong, independent and willing to stand up for her beliefs, but she is also very kind, loving and compassionate. Unlike her husband, Clarisa likes humans and doesn't drink human blood, rather animal blood. Clarisa and Vitali are very much in love, though they often argue about the humans. Clarisa has a heavenly voice whenever she sings, is a passionate huntress, almost as much as her husband.
Marina Neglestir
Gender: female
Age: 110 years old (11)
Vitali and Clarisa's firstborn. Marina is kind and compassionate just like her mother, but also got a bit of her father's stubbornness, making her a sort of a tomboy. She is clearly a daddy's girl, though she loves both her parents equally. She is curious about humans and prefers animal blood to human blood, like her mother, but Vitali won't allow her near any humans in fear she'd be hunted down. She is being taught the basics for a young lady by her mother, such as etiquette, calligraphy and other thing Clarisa thinks will be useful later on for her daughter later in the future.
Alexandru Neglestir
Gender: male
Age: 80 years (8)
Vitali and Clarisa's secondborn. He was a complete surprise, Clarisa was surprised to learn she was expecting another child. Alexandru took mostly after his father in appearance terms, and has many of his interests, such as reading or horseback riding, but Alexandru's passions are sketching and archery. He is very serious and shy, and has lots of knowledge about certain topics. Due to being Vitali's son, he is to inherit his father's title when the time comes, even though he thinks Marigold would be a better leader than him.
