She has returned!

The first and most precious of my Final Fantasy OC’s has finally been transformed like my other FF OC’s have.

I’ve had Mirage for a very, very long time – in fact I actually created this character when I was playing Final Fantasy VIII back in 1999. VIII was the first game I created an OC for, even though it wasn’t the first FF game I played. I think I could relate to VIII more than the other games at that time because Squall basically lived at High School and much like me he was the silent loner type there – everyone knew him but he mostly had acquaintances (I did have friends but they mostly went to other schools in the area).

Anyway, a while ago I got disillusioned (lol) with Mirage and I think that’s because when you make a character when you’re young (age 12 to be exact) and you want them to just be cool and awesome, you forget to make them human and flawed. I am re-working Mirage, so that she is less convoluted. If I’m honest with myself, I have never truly been happy with any of her previous designs. I was too worried about making her look cool.

Her outfit consists of a black mini-skirt with zip detail ( once told me this OC was a “skirt kind of girl” and I couldn’t draw her in anything else), a dusty pink vest top with frill detail (I actually owned this type of top in 2007) and platform converse style sneakers/trainers. The belts around her legs were a last addition and are attached to her skirt. As you may have noticed I have ditched her star necklace and replaced it with a phoenix pendant. Her jewellery is based on real life items and trends. She has a double ear-chain on her left ear and a simple stud on the other – all 3 studs are small pale blue gems. In her SeeD cadet uniform Mirage, as you may notice, is wearing her own sneakers instead of the standard shoes.

She has a new bow based off of one from FFXIV thanks to for helping me draw this.

Her Guardian Force aka GF is Shiva, who is my fave FF summon – she also has the Triple Triad card

I included the Chocobo mascot for fun. In her original profile I stated that Mirage had a Chocobo plushie dressed as a mage in her dorm room.
