I'm busy with an "Unusual Mythological Creatures" series. Everybody knows the mermaid, the faery. the vampire or the unicorn, but there are so many more of them! As I am very interested in all kinds of mythology and folklore I thought it'd be a nice idea to make a series out of them.
Here's part 1, the Wila. She's a Slavic faery, mostly winged, with long wavy hair. It is said that if one of her hairs is plucked she will die. The Wila is seen as a creature that lives between life and death, and is sometimes seen as dangerously seductive. If a human being posesses one of the feathers in her wings he can control her. The Wila are said to have the most beautiful voices, nd everyone who hears them loses all thoughts, sometimes for days at a time.
