I've been trying out Ubuntu, a popular Linux distribution, *Gasp* not Windows XP, Vista or Mac OS X? Exactly. I donno if I'll make this my primary operating system yet, but seeing as I won't upgrade to that DRM ridden Vista release, Ubuntu seemed like a good alternative. For sure, if you want the Vista eye candy without the $200+ price tag and forced digital rights management I'd encourage you to take a look at it. What do you have to lose? its FREE!

This is my desktop under Ubuntu 7.10 (somewhat OS X'ified)

Transparent top panel, 3D Dock with reflection,nothing big but it looks sharp and the cost is nothing but the time to install and configure which was less than a general windows config would take.
