Description Life has been a little rocky of late, mostly do to the timing of a contract end at work. Admittedly it had me down a depressed for a little while as the full brunt of the news sunk in. Acknowledging that for the first time, I had started developing a sense of community and am facing the possibility that I have to leave it.

Luckily, my apartment lease ends the same month that layoffs happen and I have options on where I get to go. Yet it is in this period of anxiety that I had a dream and an omen. This portrait is linked to this dream.

So there I was dreaming of flying towards the overgrown ruins of some lost civilization. A golden pyramid structure breaking through the tangled tropics growth attracts my attention as the pull towards my draconic side, my guardian, steers me near.

Amongst the depths of the jungle, I notice the dark gleam of what I have always thought to be hematite. My dragon always sticking to shadows and darkness had led me to believe that she was dark in color.

With the dawning sun, she breaks cover and charges up the pyramid, spiraling up it until she is at the peak. Blinded by the glare of the metallic dragon, it takes a few for me to recover and see her for her.

Silvery white that captures the rose hints of dawn's light and bright golden hues to her scales. How could I have ever painted her to be so dark?

She seems adamant that I recognize her and acknowledge her. As if she has been waiting and biding her time.

An omen. Change is not just possible, but the timing is right.
