Part One
Warning: There is some swearing since it is Kyo
You were cleaning the classroom after school because you had fallen asleep in class and this was your punishment. You were pushing things out of the way when you heard a loud slam and someone grumbling. You turned around to see a boy a few inches taller than you. He had orange hair and ruby eyes. You stared at him for a few seconds before he shouted at you.
"What are you staring at?" He grumpily shouted.
"N-nothing. Sorry. Can I help you?" You walked over to him.
"No. I got in trouble for yelling in class and was told to help someone clean a room. Everyone else is already done or gone so you were the only one left." You mouthed an 'oh' and he continued. "What do you want me to do?"
"Could you help me push things out of the way so I can clean the floor?"
"Sure." Without another word he easily pushed things out of the way while you went to go get the cleaning supplies you'd need. When you got back he was pushing the last desk out of the way. "I'll sweep if you want me to." He plainly stated.
"Sure that'd be real nice of you." You smiled at him and he grunted in reply. You sat up on a desk and watched him silently for a while. "So what's your name?" You asked to get rid of the silence.
"Kyo."
"I'm ____."
"Cool."
Silence returned and you tried to think of another thing to talk about. "So, who were you yelling at in class?"
He turned around sharply. "Why does matter to you!" He shouted more than asked. You flinched and looked away. You were just trying to make conversation. He turned back around and finished sweeping then started to mop the floor too.
"Wait I can mop."
"No don't worry about it." He mumbled. You sensed that he was doing it to make up for yelling at you. "I was yelling at that damn Yuki." He stated blandly and very lately.
"Oh, Yuki Sohma? Isn't he your cousin or something like that?"
"Yeah he's a part of my family."
"Why would you be yelling at a family member?"
"I'm not very good at controlling my temper." He mumbled.
You giggled at him. "I figured that already. It's okay though, because some of us just need more training then others to be a prettier flower." You smiled at him then got up. "Come on, really I ca-" then you slipped on the water. Kyo jumped out to catch you and landed on top of him and looked down at his face and laughed. "Sorry about that Kyo, are you okay?" You asked as you got off of him. His face was dusted with red and pure confusion. "Kyo?"
"Hold still." He hugged you tightly then pulled away looking at his arms and legs. You could see he was confused. "You are a girl right?" He asked rudely.
"Of course I am! Why would you ask something so rude?" You glared at him.
"Nothing." He got up and offered to help you up too.
You were a bit upset that he could even think you were a guy so you got up on your own. "I can finish mopping. You can leave if you want." You stated then turned your back on him to grab the mop and start.
"Fine I've had it with you anyways!" He shouted then stormed out and slammed the door after him. After the slam you turned around slightly and gripped your shirt where your heart was throbbing.
"Calm down you stupid heart, he's just another boy." You whispered to yourself then went to finish your job.
~Kyo's POV~
I walked quickly through the house, I had to find Shigure he could answer this. "Where the hell are you Shigure?"
"I'm in my office~!" I quickly got there and sat in front of him. "Thank you for not destroying my door Kyo~!" A stupid smile plastered his face. I was about to yell at him then I remember that I needed to ask.
"We're supposed to change whenever we hug the opposite sex right?" I quickly blurted out, I want this over with.
Shigure stared at me for a moment, rubbing his chin. "Well yes. Also whenever we exhaust our bodies. I thought you knew all of this, why are you asking?"
"I had to stay after and help someone clean for yelling at that damn rat in class. The person I helped was a girl, I was mopping she was coming over to take over. She slipped and I grabbed her so she wouldn't fall. She even fell on top of me and I didn't change. Then I hugged her to make sure."
Shigure closed his eyes and rubbed his chin. "I really don't know. Tohru~! Can you come here for a moment?" He stood up as she entered.
"Did you need something Shigure?" Why was she always so nice to this damn pervert?
"Just stand here please?" He pointed to a small piece of the floor which she followed his request. Then he pushed her straight towards me. I tried to catch her but I transformed into my cursed cat form.
"Why the hell did you have to push her Shigure?" I yelled at him.
"Oh I'm so sorry Kyo." Tohru picked me up.
"It's not your fault just put me down!"
"O-oh okay." She put me down.
"Sorry Kyo, I just had to make sure the curse wasn't lifted for you. I really don't know why you didn't transform when you hugged that girl."
"Wait you hugged someone?" Tohru was clearly happy that I let someone get so close. I don't know why though. She picked me up and hugged me. "That's so cute. Maybe she's your soul mate and that's why you didn't change!" She was stupid happy with shining eyes at the fact.
"Don't be so stupid!" I growled at her.
"Don't take this out on Tohru, Kyo!" Shigure scolded me.
Tohru put me back down. "So who was it that you hugged?" Her eyes still shining, apparently she wanted all of the details.
"____ _____." I stated and looked away.
"Ooohhh~! She's a really pretty girl! She used to be friend with Uo." Tohru giggled.
"With that Yankee?!" I yelled
"Yeah they were in the same gang and she left when Uo did."
"She was in a gang!" My eyes were wide now.
"I know she doesn't look like it because she's so pretty and small framed. She only did it because she didn't like school. Silly reason I know but she is really sweet."
"No wonder she was so hardheaded. I bet that's why-" I was cut off by transforming back into my human self and squeal from Tohru. I quick got dressed then asked and answered questions about ____.
~Back to Second-Person POV!~
School was way too early in the morning for any person to be awake and learning. You dragged your feet along the sidewalk then you bumped into someone on accident.
"Sorry." You grumbled in your half asleep state.
"Hi." A familiar voice grumbled back. You turned your head to see the one and only Kyo.
"I thought you had it with me anyways." You turned your voice to ice and spat his words back at him. You didn't really know why you were being so mean to him but it made you feel good and bad at the same time.
He grumbled to himself, still walking beside you. "Look, I am not good at controlling my temper and-"
"I know. I'm sure you need more experience with people. So skip the apology and make it up." You smiled at him softly.
"I don't know how." He mumbled with a soft pink on his cheeks.
"How about you pay for ice cream?"
"When?"
"How about now? I really, really don't want to go to school today."
He gave you a small smile. "Okay." He walked you to the closest ice cream parlor. "What do you want?"
"Oh I want uummm (favorite flavor)!" He smiled at you and got you your ice cream. You picked out a table and sat down.
"So why were you so weird yesterday?" You asked him as you put a scoop of your ice cream in your mouth.
"You mean with the hug and asking if you were a girl." You nodded. "I would have to explain later and with a certain family member around."
You swallowed your ice cream. "Why can't we go now? You know while I am still a bit forgiving."
"Sure." He got up and you followed him out the door of the ice cream shop. The walk was peaceful and the silence was indulging. Making you a bit sleepy yet you were too happy for some reason.
"So how far is your house from here?"
"Not too far now. We are almost there."
"So what are we doing again?" You gave him a spacy looking making him face palm.
"We're going to my house to meet a cousin of mine. I have to tell you and prove to you why I was weird yesterday."
"Oh yeah!"
"But promise you'll still talk to me afterwards?" He whispered and looked away.
You giggled and pecked his cheek. "I promise."
