Power Rangers: Samurai vs Randy Cunningham: 9th Grade Ninja

Connections: Modern-day teenage samurai/ninja who fight off monsters of the week with powers inherited from a long line of warriors (The Samurai Rangers and the Norrisville Ninjas), both legacies spanning centuries. Both transform into tights-wearing heroes using items (The Samuraizer and the Ninja Mask), both forms granting them their powers, though have some physical prowess on their own. Both are known for being wisecracks (Jayden is a bit more serious, but can throw out some one-liners here and there), but can back it up with their combat prowess, especially with a sword. They also wield a ton of different weapons (Jayden’s Symbol Power and Randy’s wide variety of ninja weapons), as well as elemental techniques, (though they prefer fire above most else), and the ability to use the power of the warriors who came before them with special objects. (Jayden's Shogun Disk lets him access Shogun Mode, which lets him draw power from his ancestors, and the Ninjanomicon gives Randy access to the knowledge and wisdom of previous Ninjas.) They use these abilities to protect their towns from a villain who was sealed away by the previous warriors, but still cause mayhem by sending monsters into the real world to draw negative emotions to escape. (Master Xandred uses the tears of scared civilians to raise the Sanzu River and flood the Earth, and The Sorcerer draws power from chaos and turns vulnerable civilians into monsters.) Both Jayden and Randy were able to stop them in the end, doing what their ancestors couldn't and defeating them once and for all.
