Description
The å in the mountain's name (resp. aa in transliteration) is not a. It is pronounced as the vowel in the English words raw, draw, claw, etc.Similarly ø (resp. oe) is not an o, but it actually doesn't have an English analogue. It's roughly a combination between the vowels in birch and book.
We hopped in the hrududu, but before we left Håkøya we drove just a bit further north to the end of the road, at the far north-eastern tip of the small island.
We stood on the meadow upon the shore for a minute and watched the darkening skies. Such a tranquil place and time. The soul needs more of those.
These two shots are the same, with only the polarizing filter turned differently.
I wanted to show them both because the effect is quite interesting.
View to the north-east from the northernmost side of Håkøya.
Across the water (which is Nordbotn) to the left is the northern part of Kvaløya.
Behind, in the distance, the high mountains of Ringvassøya can be made out.
To the right, a part of Tromsøya, with the bridge that connects it to Kvaløya.
01.10.2018, Håkøya.
