Aww I try saving every last cat, or kitten I run across- my little brother even jokingly says if we're driving somewhere no matter where we are going he'll go "stop the car" just to go help a cat.

As forΒ mosquitoes β they're absolutely essential for some of the ecosystems, and the total extermination of this one species can lead to many other species of animals and plants extinct.
As for some human individuals β this is a very contraversial philosophic question for a very long discussion 
I'd also say, that savin of a human is all in humans' hands, but the animals' and plants' lives are very dependable on humanity, so we shoud be very careful with them.
