although i dont have the same affinity for the concepts of your work as you do (of course), i still envy your drawing/painting abilities in the way you carry them out. cheers.

Awesome collab! The winking face is awesome, and your three-eyed lady with the demon hind-face kicks ass. And that's a neat image - cobra with rat-head. Lotsa symbolism there!

These collaborations are truly wonderful. Many times they remind me of The Dragons of Eden (Carl Sagan). Do you happen to be familiar with this book?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

larkin-art In reply to zaidaalida [2007-03-30 14:25:44 +0000 UTC]

thank you kindly
No, i've never read any Sagan- i'm stuck on Lovecraft now (right, big surprise there). do you recommend it?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

zaidaalida In reply to larkin-art [2007-03-31 19:09:27 +0000 UTC]

Hmm. I am not familiar with Lovecraft. As for The Dragons of Eden, I find it very insightful, if not a mind-full. It is a speculative book on the evolution of human intelligence and covers some symbols, which your recent collaborations have been reminding me. Mainly, reptile-mammal cohabitation, similarities in the brains of species, etc. The book is one of those types that you gotta go slow to absorb the information, and to ponder and cross-reference. There are multiple times Sagan has these long-winded sentences and sometimes they gotta be re-read. He has a tendency to use academic vocabulary, so it does not make for an easy read. But overall, I do recommend the book.

Nice work. I've been noticing that the eyes you've done lately have been getting more lively and don't tend to have that odd mannequin stare to them anymore. Very impressed.
