Edit hair? I just paint them, and mainly from looking at references and real hair depth and lighting, I can't be specific because I was self taught from observation. Take an artwork that you've seen and liked and then study how that artist had applied the hair rendering. There are also tutorials everywhere for the them as well as videos.
