I've been wanting to do something with these two for a while but because of my creative rut I never did, till now of course.

I always envisioned my husky girl Katrina having a malamute boyfriend, his name being Alec. I originally wanted to do like a double date piece with these two along with my characters Owen and Shannon. But I wanted to do something more simple as I'm still working on my craft.

So then I came up with this idea of them first seeing each other, being professional athletes playing on the same track and field team, perhaps they were stretching before practice and they each took notice of each other, finding the other attractive.

Even for a simple drawing like this it still takes work, from figuring out the perspective of the background, finding the correct reference for how I want my character's poses to look as well as getting their anatomy right. I'm thinking about maybe drawing a new line art style moving forward as I attempted to change the color of the line art on the clouds but it just didn't mesh with the solid black lines.

But never the loss, I love how it came out, my mom thought it was cute also, great experience, can't wait to do it again!
