I was on a roll today!!!!!!!! I was so incredibly productive! Every piece I did today was a great piece, and I ended the day with a really stunning one that even got my teacher to come up to me telling me how she was proud of me and my imagination, and how I combined realism with fantasy like this. That made my day : ) So yeah, after I drew the model as Medusa ([link] ), she laid down for a 2 hour pose, and I originally was in a really crappy position for drawing her, so I had to move halfway across the room till I found a good spot, and I was lucky to get such a great angle. I was trying to figure out how to warp the pic into something imaginative and it ended up coming to me before I even thought of it. Her back was curved exactly as that hill is, and after drawing her back, I thought it was all hilly, and then connected that to the whole Mother Earth motif, and make use of her curly hair by making it clouds. I rather like this piece. I may end up framing it.The colors look tons better IRL. I took this pic with my digital camera, and it ended up darkening the image a lot, so when I went to brighten it in Photoshop, it exaggerated all my colors even more than they are in the original. Maybe if I buy an 18 by 24 inch scanner one day, I'll scan it properly : P

Ah!! You know I love them warm colors! They look great especially in the mountains. I like how the figure's curves are very well incorporated into the landscape. My friend recently did a similar pic with a figure drawing of a sleeper whose blanket turned into a landscape defined by the shape of the body underneath. The right leg seems out of proportion somewhat, at least compared to the other leg. Very whimsical...sp?
