I was thinking that too! Of course, I suspect Toph may have fought more and possibly sustain more injuries than Katara who had to raise her kids - which is heartbreaking to me to even think about but that's totally just a theory.

I've a strong feeling she was definitely more influenced. In fact, I'm pretty sure she was picking up Katara's rebel stories of youth from White Lotus guards who can't resist sharing them with her. XD (Damn, I have to make this into a comic!)
