I blame Aang. XDJust a couple of observations from this Friday's episode, 'The Painted Lady.' Honestly, I can't be the only person seeing Katara's rebellious and destructive path, am I?

That episode had me confused as to what message the creators were trying to get across. Sokka seemed to be the only sane one, am I crazy to think Katara was acting like an idiot? or maybe I just don't have a heart

I can't say I'm the only one who thought along the same lines though.
I think Katara had her heart in the right place. She really did want to help the villagers out but she was pretty sneaky/destructive about the entire thing. XD

Hahaha, and Aang's with her the whole way. I particularly love, in The Painted Lady, how he wasn't angry that she was doing it, he was just a little miffed that she didn't let him in on the secret. XD

Excellent point. And she can't even blame it on Jet's influence. She was all rebellious from the start. Just think of everything in the episode with Haru, or even her rebelliousness in the first and second episodes of the series when she goes off with Aang and triggers the flare in the old Fire Nation ship. She likes to cause trouble, even if it is supposedly for the "greater good"! ^_^

there is something kind of alarming about her vigilante tendencies. also, zuko had already done the masked-crusader-for-personal-justice thing, so it just kinda felt like a rip-off when she did it. (not to mention, yeah, she probably sorta killed some people along the way.)

Rather. Katara is a Chaotic Good character, by DnD terminology. She does whatever she believes is right, by her own personal moral compass...and laws and rules can go hang themselves in a well.
