I had been watching her for like 2 years now and never did anything, she inspired me with the hands, her wacky poses and her lineart ( the thick outlines ) and her birthday was like a few days ago, but she's not the only one I'm making a gift for, everyones birthday I'll make one for each one, which is hard for me to do on time X.x.

Be glad you can enter them, I'm always late or procrastinate the night before it ends D: <
And I never win either, so just shrug, and move on it doesn't mean your not good enough it depends on what the judges prefer. So you lost from your idea of the picture ( and maybe the part of no color coloring can bring it to life or make it more better )..
