A 05.00am start was needed to travel the 75 miles to the coast this morning. High tide was around 06.45 and lasts for approximately 3 hours by which time the tide goes out as far as the eye can see.Related content

This picture brings a lot of different emotions out all at the same time but first let me tell you that I love the picture and what it must of taking for you to sit/stand to get just the right shot. I love these types of pictures....this one makes me home sick for the beach and the pier where I used to fish off of. About the time you were taking this one. I really love your use of black and white for this cause I believe the color would not do just to it. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful talent with us. I hope when I my talent is developed to this point that it is just 1/10 as good as your cause if it is I will die a very happy woman. Take care and God bless.

Wow, very nice photograph.
I'm guessing shutterspeed was set to a huge exposure time.
I would critique this, but I'm too nooby at photography, so I'll just put my two cents here
The only problem I can see with this is the clouds, they're too tumoltous for the rest of the photo where everything is calm and smooth
It would look better if they were just a little bit more blurred, like they are at the bottom left of the horizon
