Description

/// A Brief Address: Those who've looked through my collection of art for the Doctrine combat forms has changed a lot through the years. This comes down to lacking a firm core to my original design concept. Then, when I'd hit my stride, I learned about Strike Witches, which features a pretty much identical base concept.

That really threw me off and kinda threw off my ideas about the Doctrine. As I continued to experiment, I kept tripping over trying to avoid being too similar, and constantly fighting my own uncertainty over what they should look like.

However, I will continue to work with Hexen im Krieg, regardless of the existence of other series, because it's something dear to me, and I feel my creation is still my own. I hope people continue to enjoy it! ///

(Lore Starts Here)

When the Doctrine made their first assault upon Europa, their forms were strange and foreign, making little sense. They showed no identifiable features, no limbs, and merely floated about. Their attacks were aggressive and powerful, making little attempts at conservation.

However, they have adapted since. Their attacks are more precise and focused, and now walk to further conserve their lacking power.

This slowed invasion speed has resulted in time for humanity to react and prepare for the greater conflict.

The Warrior Form is the standard combat unit of the Doctrine invasion. Firing a single beam from it's forward facing "eye," which also serves as it's sensory receptor. The location of it's Core Lens is it's underside, though it will shift to it's upper body with recharging.

The legs each end with super-heated spikes that can serve as efficient weapons and allow them to climb surfaces quickly. Movement speed can easily out-pace a running soldier or slow vehicle. Thankfully, they cannot leave the influence of the Doctrine Signal so the distance they travel is limited.

Doctrine warriors follow a simple strategy in combat, usually marching straight towards their targets accurately picking off victims. They will climb over any obstacles in their way and may sometimes hide inside buildings in ambush, though they often leave obvious entry routes.

Warriors will frequently travel in packs and patrol doctrine held territory, while also being the main force in any advance.
