Two Archangels of the Seraphim were positioned above all others; Lucifer (Mourning Star), and Metatron (Cause of Causes). While Lucifer was one of the key instruments in the beginning of the world, and had power to ensure light and Grace would come to humanity, Metatron was the blade that would fell Creation at the End of Days, and would act in the interim as the Voice of God to Mortals.

When Lucifer volunteered to take the role of Satan, while the true Satan couldn't be found, Metatron was one of the strongest voices against him. The close bond between the two was something special, though Metatron eventually caved to his decision.

Metatron still waits for Lucifer to return to the Heavens, and prays for his burden to end...

As the most powerful Angel currently in the Heavenly Host, Metatron cannot show her true self, a Divine Construct, to any mortal without vaporizing them, thus she always chooses to have a Mortal form.

Her powers are likewise tightly sealed, since even a brief slip might cause more damage than all of the nuclear arsenals across the world.
