CHAPTER 12: THE FINAL TRIAL______

We met up with Ivysaur and Warturtle. When they saw Kinichi with us, they were outraged.
“What are you doing with these losers?” asked Ivysaur.
“I decided to quit your exploration team and join up with my friends.” Said Kinichi. “I won’t cower behind your threat anymore.”
“That is a huge mistake.” Said Warturtle. Ivysaur sent razor leaf and Warturtle shot bubblebeam and Kinichi. We jumped in front of Kinichi and countered their attacks with my own bubblebeam and Chimchar’s ember. “Get out of the way!” Warturtle warned.
“You fight Kinichi, you deal with us, too.” I said.
“Fine have it your way.” Ivysaur readied an attack and an earthquake interrupted our fight. It was quick and left as soon as it appeared. Another earthquake broke through and another and another. I figured out that they weren’t earthquakes. They were footsteps. But from what? Just then, a huge figure that could shadow what was left of the forest started arriving through a nearby cave. As it came closer, I could see its huge claws, its red outer shell with glowing blue lines all throughout it’s body. As it got closer, its size became more unimaginable. When it was in full light, it let out an enormous growl that almost made me run and hide.
“What’s that?” I asked.
“I’ve read about this guy before.” Said Chimchar. “He is the pokemon that is rumored to have created the land of the world. His name is Groudon. This guy is amongst the strongest pokemon in the world.”
“Are you kidding me?!” shouted Ken.
“Hey! Don’t forget about us!” reminded Ivysaur.
“Idiot! We have to work together if we want to defeat this guy!” I said. “We can deal with our problem later!”
“I don’t think so.” Said Warturtle.
“It looks like we have no choice.” Said Chimchar. “We’ll have to fight them all. Saori, I think you and Kinichi should face Groudon while Ken and I tackle the other two.”
I agreed and we went into two different battles.

Ken/Chimchar-Ivysaur/Warturtle:
Chimchar fired a series of ember at Ivysaur While Ken tried aiming dark pulse at Warturtle. They are a lot more experienced than when they faced them at Infinity Forest. They were able to dodge all of their attacks. Ivysaur fired a razor leaf at Ken while Warturtle shot hydro pump at Chimchar. Chimchar was able to dodge but Ken wasn’t so lucky. After taking a hit, Ken was knocked backwards but was able to regain his balance and used flash the two while Chimchar trapped them in fire spin. Ken focused dark pulse under the fire spin and attacked the two while they couldn’t run away. When the fire died, both Ivysaur and Warturtle were knocked out on the ground.

Me/Kinichi-Groudon:
Kinichi and I started shooting bubblebeam and flamethrower at Groudon. He’s so big that he can’t even dodge. All our attacks were direct hits. They didn’t seem to be doing any damage, though. Groudon’s arm started glowing and he widely swung it around me and Kinichi, knocking both of us aside. We got up and I remembered something I read somewhere: when fighting a large foe, aim for the eye. No one can train one’s eye.
“Kinichi aim for his eyes!”
“Are you sure?”
“It’s worth a try!”
We shot bubblebeam and flamethrower a his eyes and that did a lot more damage. While he was in pain, we followed it up with metal claw and steel wing. Groudon fell backwards and hit the ground hard. We jumped on his head and finished of with bite and peck.

I couldn’t believe that we were able to take down two strong opponents and a legendary pokemon at the same time. I was exhausted. Kinichi next to me looked the same. Chimchar and Ken looked a little worn out as well. Ken ran over too me and got really close to me to be sure I was alright. I knew it was an act, so I did the same to him.
“You look beat.” said a worried Ken. “Want to ride on my back?”
“Sure.”
“Did I miss something?” asked Kinichi.
“Their in love. They havn’t admitted I yet so don’t say anything.” Whispered Chimchar. Ken sat down and I climbed on. I was so tired that I wanted to fall asleep. I forced my self awake. I wanted to see Cubone’s face when he sees that we beat Groudon and two bullies at the same time and gained a new member for our team. There was a sign next to the cave Groudon came through. It read: If you can read this than you have done more that I could expect. Well done! Just walk through the cave ahead and you will arrive within a few minutes.
In no time at all, I saw a light at the end of the cave. When we walked through, we were just outside of the Cubone Dojo. We turned around to walk back in and Cubone was there waiting to greet us.
“Cubone!” said an excited Chimchar. “You wouldn’t believe what we just did!”
“Oh, and what would that be?” asked a curious Cubone.
“We defeated Groudon and two bullies that have been bothering us since Ken and I arrived and we also met my other friend from the human world and she joined!” I said with as much excitement as I could muster. “Cubone, Kinichi.” I greeted them.
“Ah yes. I remember when you walked in with those other two. Why did you switch?”
“It’s a long story.” Said Kinichi. “But all that matters is that we are all friends on the same team.”
“Well, it seems that all of you performed magnificently well.” Praised Cubone. “May I ask how you defeated Groudon?”
“Well,” I started, “Kinichi and I were the ones who defeated Groudon. Ken and Chimchar defeated the bullies.”
“Only two of you fought Groudon?” asked a surprised Cubone. “It usually takes a full team of three to defeat him. And not only that, the other two faced off in a double battle against two strong opponents.”
“Wait,” I said, “so Groudon was one of your ‘trained specialists’ you were talking about?”
“Actually, you didn’t face the real Groudon. It was a ditto I hired in disguise. But make no mistake. That Groudon fake was no weaker than the real Groudon. You did better than any team I have trained before. As a special reward for your hard efforts, you will get these rare candies and these TMs containing drill peck, flamethrower, sucker punch, and hyper beam.”
“Are you serious?” I asked.
“I’ve been saving these for when I met a very strong group of people with a lot of strength and potential. You deserve all of this.”
“Thank you.” We all said. We walked out and finally returned to our cave-house on the cliff. I kept forcing my self to stay awake so that I could get my candies and drill peck. We each got three candies and our respective TMs. After eating the candies, I felt tons stronger and have slightly more energy. Enough to keep me awake until I learned drill peck.
“Chimchar, how do I learn moves with a TM?” I asked.
“Hold against your body and focus on the TM. Your body should absorb it and you will know the move contained within.”
I did as I was told and everything he described happened. I went outside and found a big rock to try it on. I jumped up in the air and I began spinning so fast that everything was a blurr. I hurled my self at the rock beak first and when I hit the rock, it shattered and I pierced right through it. I stumbled on the other side and turned around to see what was left of the rock.
“Woah…” I was surprised by the power of the attack. When everyone else came up, they were all surprised by the attack as well. Ken ran over to me and checked me again.
“How do you feel?” he asked.
“To be honest, dizzy.”
“What did it feel like?” asked Kinichi.
“Really cool. I jumped in the air and spun really fast. I then drove my beak into the rock and that’s what’s left of it.”
“Did you feel anything that seemed a little weird or hard to control?” asked Chimchar.
“Yeah. It seemed hard to control where I was going at first, but it doesn’t seem that hard once you get going.”
“Good.” Said Ken. “Now lets get inside and get some rest. We have another big day tomorrow.”
