CHAPTER 5: TIMES ARE CHANGING?_____

On top of a tall tower, a pokemon stood and watched as his work changed the world in front of him. Soon, all time will stop and there will be a day of darkness that will never end. His master would be please by his progress. A small pokemon appeared by his side. “The master wants to know how things are going.” he said.
“Tell him everything is going better than he planned. So far, nothing of the prophecy has come true that involves our downfall.” The little pokemon disappeared and the other laughed to himself. This was going to be easy.

I told Ken and Chimchar about Kinichi and Ken most of all was shocked. “What do you suppose she’s keeping from us?” Ken asked.
“I don’t know.” I said.
“Well there’s no point in worrying about it now.” said Chimchar. “We need to press on with our work.” Ken and I both agreed, but we were still worried. On our way to the post office, in town square, the mayor, Wigglytuff, and his advisor, Chatot, were holding a meeting with the pokemon.
“As you may know, there have been some parts of our world slow down and eventually stop. As in, time has stopped completely in some places.” he said. “We will have all exploration teams investigate what is happening. The assignments for all of the exploration teams is posted at the post office bulletin board.” Wigglytuff dismissed the pokemon and everyone crowded around the list. When we got there, we didn’t see our team on the list. We asked Wigglytuff why and he said that we were only a beginning exploration team and inexperienced. “I still think we can do something.” said Chimchar.
“How about this.” said Wigglytuff. “If you really think your up to the task, then there is one place that needs to be inspected still. Echo cave. Go there and see if you can find any clues.”
“You can count on us!” we said confidently. We set off to prepare for the trip.
“Do you think they can do it?” asked Chatot.
“I have full faith in them.”

We decided to study up on the subject, since we only heard about it from the meeting. We picked up a newspaper that had an article about it:

Times Are Changing?
There have been several reports about time in regions of the world where time has stopped completely. The wind never blows, dew drops frozen in mid-air, everything colorless. There are no clues as to why this is happening, but there are some unconfirmed possibilities. We will report as much as we can ASAP. That’s all we can say about this subject.

“Well that didn’t help us much.” I said sarcastically.
“No, but at least we know what’s going on.” said Ken. Always the optimist.
“Alright.” said Chimchar. “Let’s head east, to Echo Cave!”
