Description CHAPTER 9: THE FOREST TRAIL________

The first thing I did was train with some weaker wild pokemon. I was determined to get really strong while I was here. Afterwards, I went with Ken to pick some berries for breakfast. I don’t know if it’s been clear before, but I might really like Ken. Ever since he made that promise to me I see a side I’ve never seen before and I really like it. I want any opportunity I can get to be by his side. After we all had breakfast, we continued onward through the forest. Even though we were underground, it still looked kind of pretty. All of the trees were so tall and healthy they may as well have been grown outside instead of underground. I heard something jump from one of he trees. I looked around and could’t see anything. I then could have sworn I saw something hide behind some bushes. I whispered to Ken: “Can you use vacuum-cut and see is something’s following us? I keep hearing noises.” Ken nodded and readied his move. Before he could use it, we were completely surrounded by grass and bug type pokemon. Caterpie, butterfree, weedle, wurmple, nincada, budeu, and many more everywhere. Ken was still charging up vacuum-cut. He started to release it when all of the worm-like pokemon used string shot to tie him up. “Chimchar, distract them with you fire attacks while I help Ken. Try to hold them off!” Chimchar jumped right in front of them all and continuously used ember to ward them off. I ran over to Ken and used peck to cut the webbing. We got up and started attacking the other pokemon. Ken kept using vacuum-cut which did the most damage. This was similar to when we were trapped in Ninetail’s illusion except that there were more and stronger pokemon. My peck and steel wing combo seemed to be working for the while until they started to get closer. I created a bubble barrier that they broke through quickly. Ken timed his vacuum-cut right so that the pokemon that were closing in on me fainted and collapsed. Chimchar was doing a really good job warding off the enemies on his side and Ken was doing damage on all the pokemon. So once again, I was the underdog. I remembered what Chimchar did at Ninetail’s illusion when I learned steel wing. I remembered what that move was. There was only one way that Chimchar could have used steel wing after I did. “Chimchar! Use mimic!”  Chimchar looked at me like I was crazy.
“I don’t know that move!” Something snapped in his head and he remembered when he used steel wing back at Ninetail’s illusion. After Ken used another vacuum-cut, Chimchar focused his mind on studying the movements. Without trying, Chimchar started to glow with energy. “Ken, you use vacuum-cut as well!” I said. “A double vacuum-cut at the same time might finish most of these guys off!” Ken obeyed and started to charge up his vacuum-cut. At the same time, Ken and Chimchar both released vacuum-cut and the entire forest was cut down into a clearing. Along with the forest, most of the pokemon fainted and so did some of the ones still hiding in the grass and trees. There was no way they could escape now. At the same time, I released steel wing into a shock wave, Chimchar used ember and Ken used dark pulse. This, covering the entire area, finally knocked out the rest of the attacking pokemon. We were finally (literally) out of the woods. We stopped in front of a mountain trail and saw the huge scale we had to climb. We settled down at the foot and had dinner. Chimchar decided to walk a little farther to see if there was anything special to expect the next day. He came back with news from a sign apparently left by Cubone.

You did well to make it this far. This will be the hardest part of the dungeon, so don’t take it lightly. Oh, by the way, I would sleep in shifts tonight.
