Evil dead and Ghost Busters? Care bears and Jonny the homicidal maniac?

How do you wanna go about doing this? Want me to supply the lineart, or you? Or both of us do lineart and we can CG each others?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

lazytigerart In reply to hpop [2005-03-15 10:40:12 +0000 UTC]

here's a thought...

someone starts one half of the collab and gets it to a finished inked stage. the other person gets the pic and adds their half of the inks. the pic is handed back and the first person cg's the other persons inks, then it goes back again and the other person cg's the first persons inks.

and then you add a background because i couldn't be bothered

it's just crazy enough to work! we could could call it project:lazypop... or h-tiger! no wait... that second one sounds like an anime bestiality title... scratch that.

so whatchoo tink?

lazytigerart In reply to hpop [2005-03-22 10:48:12 +0000 UTC]

a'ight dawg! i've got me some holidays next week so i'll have time to draw i have this grand scheme to try and get all my trades and whatnot all up to date in that given time and do my best to get part 2 of the comic underway. i'm anticipating major burnout but it's as good a way to go as any.

in the meantime i will endeavour to do a diagram to make the subtle intricacies of project:lazypopβ„’ apparent.

...wait, why does that sound sound familiar? *reads parent post* ah, because i already told you i'd do that... a week ago... heh heh... sorry. it's gaming and anime's fault, i've got back into both of them in a major way of late and having been devoting enough time to devart. oh well, you're a patient sort of chap so it's all good

speaking of anime, have you seen samurai champloo yet? phwoar!

D/ling the last ep of Samurai Champloo now. If you haven't seen it up to this point, then...well, I won't spoil it either way. It's fuckin' good.

lazytigerart In reply to hpop [2005-03-24 01:59:17 +0000 UTC]

so how many eps is it? 26? and it stays consistantly good the whole way? i'm keen

gotta love ol' watanabe!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

hpop In reply to lazytigerart [2005-03-24 09:01:59 +0000 UTC]

26 all up. The series isn't as good as Cowboy Beebop. It's consistantly good, but I'm kinda getting tired of the same routine. I mean, the story is basic as all hell, the characters are cardboard cut outs, the pacing is fairly ordinary, story progression is predictable. The only thing going for it is the music, editing and the animation (and I don't really like the rap music :[ ). It's an enjoyable series, but it's waaay below par of Cowboy Beebop. In fact it's not that much better than most of the anime out right now.

I say this, but I still enjoyed it thoroughly. ^__^ I just don't want to hype it up so much that you expect more that what it will give.

it's all good, i've thoroughly enjoyed what i've seen so far. i don't mind paper thin plots as long as there's a healthy dose of funkiness about the style. you've seen my comic.

hpop In reply to lazytigerart [2005-04-10 06:55:27 +0000 UTC]

Indeed I have seen your comic. I see your point tho. Just as long as there's a bit of substance, then I can pretty much enjoy anything.

hpop In reply to lazytigerart [2005-03-22 13:24:23 +0000 UTC]

WooT!! Of course, for me, every day is a holiday (*insert Dandy Warhols theme music here*). Coz I'm unemployed...still T_T

I can't wait to see that part 2 of that comic. I think the secret ingredient is crack. I think I'm close, aren't I?

Err. Speaking of comic, did I actually show you my comic I did for Generation? If not, then I shall email it post hast to you, and later on a pirate mini comic I'm doing.

I can understand. Anime is an excellent distraction. And I am the patient type of fellow. Good thing too. If I wasn't I'd have made a small roadtrip to Sydney with my good friend Mr. Cricket Bat. And he always has a few words to share. ^_______^ But since I'm patient, it's all good Hell, even if I wasn't, you can bring up that Generations thing

Have I seen Samurai Champloo yet?! I waiting for that last episode (26)!! XD Just one more week (give or take a few days) XD Damn that ending at 25 is a killer XD

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

lazytigerart In reply to hpop [2005-03-24 01:56:26 +0000 UTC]

the secret ingredient for the comic is love, solitude and determination. yep, a little LSD is all i need thanks for the vote of enthusiasm.

if your comic for generation was the dead chick going through the stages of denial then yes. if not, send it to me post-haste young man!

pirate comic? huzzah! that sounds like my kind of thing. what's the go with that?

i'm currently very much digging champloo but i've only seen the first 4 episodes because i'm not a dirty pirate like some kidding. actually, i downloaded the first ep of naruto the other day... haven't watched it yet though. i'm told it's supposed to be good. anyway, champloo kicks ass, i've watched it with the english dub and i'm going to go back and watch it subbed and decide which i like better. the dub isn't too bad.

also on the anime front, madman finally released my all time favourite anime, el hazard, so they're officially on my christmas card list it was a good trip down memory lane to watch that little gem again. they're also releasing the ranma movies soon! huzzah! hopefully this means they might start releasing the ova and tv series afterward. fma and the escaflowne boxset is coming soon too... i picked a great time to get re-enthused about anime. good times will surely follow.

damn. long post... sorry about that.

hpop In reply to lazytigerart [2005-03-24 09:18:54 +0000 UTC]

The pirate comic is coming along. I've done the first page (inked). The second page is penciled, the third page is half-way penciled. 2 More pages left after those.

I buy a lot of anime. I'm thinking of cutting back. So far I'm getting tsukihime, mezzo, wolf's rain, 12 kingdoms, ROD the tv, and the Gibli collection. I won't even get started on the complete box sets. I don't think I'll buy the naruto series, or One Piece either. I think that it's too long, and it's waaay too long to get it where there's only 3 eps per dvd. If they released it like they did for the Big 0 (series one), where the entire 13 eps were in a nice single case, with 3 dvds at $54 in total; then I would think it would be worth my while. But even then. They waited too long. I mean both of the series' started when it got popular in the US version of Shonen jump, so I don't see why they didn't start right after ep 30 or 60. Right now there are 137 eps of OP and they expect people who d/led the entire thing to buy the dvds? Who are they kidding. (sorry. I get irritated when some companies blatently do this just to get money)

I saw El Hazard. I want to get it, but it only has the first 2 OVAs. Then there's slayers. Damn the total of slayers is like $380! Sooo much anime. I don't think I can afford to get anymore. Damn you! Why did you have to mention that the Ranma series is coming out here. There's also inu yasha. I'm gonna be soo poor T_T I already am poor T-T

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

lazytigerart In reply to hpop [2005-04-03 05:59:58 +0000 UTC]

the first ova of el hazard is worth 60 bucks alone! agree immediately or we can no longer be friends!

what's your opinion on tsukihime, wolf's rain, 12 kindoms and rod? i've been thinking about checking out rod. i liked the 3 parter a lot. is the tv anything like it? actually, what do you think of mezzo as well? i thought the first 2 eps were great but 3 and 4 were appalling. it's like they ran out of budget all of a sudden and couldn't afford to animate the funkilicious action scenes any more. truely awful stuff. i'm too afraid to watch the fifth episode.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

hpop In reply to lazytigerart [2005-04-03 16:22:28 +0000 UTC]

Hahahaha! I'm getting all 5 of those anime.

Tsukihime: Despite the initial clichΓ© (vampires = *yawn*), it's actually pretty nice. The story moves along well, and there's enough suspense to keep you there (although, I only have the 1st dvd).

Wolf's Rain: I got the first 2 dvds, and I'm still undecided on it. I don't think this story has any particular direction, and wondering if in this case that's a good thing. The characters are kinda bland. On the plus side, a lot of the production team for cowboy beebop is on this anime, so it has it's redeeming qualities. It's iffy for me.

12 Kingdoms: Get it. Get it now. You won't regret getting this series. It's long (more dvds), but it's worth it from what I've seen (so far up to date with it).

ROD: Since you've seen the OVA, get the series. I really like what I have so far (vol 1 & 2), but a friend of mine likes the OVA better. I think it holds it's own, but it's still going, so I'll leave it at that.

Mezzo: It's good. I think the first 2 eps build your hopes up too much, as the animation is really awesome, but then their budget kicks in and you have the regular 8 frames/sec. Kinda a system shock (it's not really different in quality to other anime, but still... T-T). But I recommend getting Mezzo Forte first. I thnk it's coming out on dvd soon (whether it's uncensored or not, is probably undecided. I think it's uncensored if you get it at JB, but censored if you go to EB (censored coz there's some hardcore sexx )), or you can dl it somewhere. I think it can be enjoyed by itself, but watching the OVA enhances everything. Mezzo Forte has the best animation you'll ever see btw. (Kite (by the same guy who did this series) is kinda more depressing, and not many people liked it as much).

lazytigerart In reply to hpop [2005-04-04 08:19:26 +0000 UTC]

cool, thanks for the tips mate i shall look into 12 kingdoms post-haste! is there anywhere i can download it for a bit of a preview before i fork out the cash?

so mezzo doesn't get any better... that's pretty disappointing. i doubt i'll bother with the rest of the series then. such poor production offends my delicate sensibilities too much especially after the shiny polish of the first two eps. i'll have a scrounge around for forte though. did that come before or after the series?

also, where do you download stuff from? if i had the resources to sample more stuff, i'd probably buy more.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

hpop In reply to lazytigerart [2005-04-10 07:04:10 +0000 UTC]

I don't think there's any place you can dl it. I think it's been released too long ago for you to find anywhere that has it seeded enough. But just get the first dvd (with, without the box). If you don't like it, then sell it to a second hand store. At least you get half of your money back

I dl anime everywhere. It really depends what I'm after, but the most reliable places are animesuki and a dot scarywater dot net. For more stuff, I go to more specialized places. I can note you a list of the places if you like.
