Description
It takes strength to be certain,It takes courage to have doubts.
It takes strength to fit in,
It takes courage to stand out.
It takes strength to share a friend's pain,
It takes courage to feel your own pain.
It takes strength to hide your own pain,
It takes courage to show it and deal with it.
It takes strength to stand guard,
It takes courage to let down your guard.
It takes strength to conquer,
It takes courage to surrender.
It takes strength to endure abuse,
It takes courage to stop it.
It takes strength to stand alone,
It takes courage to lean on a friend.
It takes strength to love,
It takes courage to beloved.
It takes strength to survive,
It takes courage to live.

This actually took forever to make! It was probably my most challenging piece. I've had it finished for days, but was just worried on feedback. I noticed there aren't any centaur photomanipulations, so I thought I'd try it.
Let me know what you think!

Thanks, love! I was hoping it'd look fairly real..well, as real as a centaur can be.

I like it but a little bit more attention to the details in the masking process will be good.

As a bit of a beginner, I'm not really familiar with masking or anything. I agree with you completely, though; I'm not really happy with how this turned out. But I suppose everyone has a fail every now and again!

Oh, I know, but I still think it isn't as good as I orginally thought it would be. And I really really appreciate your advice and critique; it's what comments are for, after all! I always love hearing it so I can try to improve.

Not enough female centaurs out there. Nice job!
The lyrics remind me of a postcard in a book I found once: "I am forced to keep your secrets because you were too weak to keep them to yourself." Seriously, that's what it said! Like yours better though...

Thank you! And I really see what you mean...I had a tough time with this one, to be honest. I guess it really eluminated how human posture and horse posture is so different! Thank you so much for your observation, I learned from it for next time!

In drawings it always looks so easy to combine the two ^^, but with photo's you also have the problem of finding poses that fit well together That's hard with really different body types.
Good job none the less ^^!

Exactly! I tried to find a horse body whose shoulders were in align with the girls hips...Then the sizing was a bit of a dilema! But at least I can say I tried.

Thank you!
It took a bit of time to put the two bodies together. I cut out the two images, off course, and then sort of used the smudge tool and eraser to bled the two so it looks like gradual transition from human to equine. What took most of the time was making sure that it all was poportionaly correct. I think it helped that the female's hips in the picture aligned with the position of the horse's shoulders.
If any of that make sense.
I really appreciate your comment and support!

Don't give up on making a centaur of your own. It takes LOTS of patience and practice, as I learned!

Cheers for that. I will revist it, itis certainly an area I enjoy and there is something about centaurs that is worth creating more of.

Leafbreeze7 In reply to baileytotheann [2011-10-20 01:22:07 +0000 UTC]
Thank you! And yes, I did. It wasn't as difficult as I thought, mostlyb what took so ong was cutting out the picture and getting the two bodies in porportion with one another. It really helpedthat I watch a lot of special-features for fantasy movies that talk about making CG centaurs, or I'd have a tough time.
