Heatherstar is completely disregarding what he just said in favour of something more cheerful.Deeplake is going along with it because that is just how Heatherstar is.
I will be skipping the actual ceremony as the prologue is long enough as it is. (still 5 more pages after this one).

Beepaw....Her and Deeplake were in love when they were apprentices, but she was killed.

Mudflower....His other apprentice
Eagletalon....His father
Willowheart(scar)....Deeplake's mother. Her name was changed when she joined StarClan
