Shepard was dying, Kaidan knew it, shepard knew it. “I was glad to have you back Kaid” she whispered. “Shepard, I know”.

she smiled, he grasped her hand and spoke “We will get out of this, the reapers are dead, you did it. You just have to hang on a little longer, the medics are on their way”.

She smiled and touched his face with her free hand “Kaid, you know i won’t make it, my body is too badly beat up… Promise me something”.

He nodded “Anything”.

“Promise me you will live, you will be the best damned Alliance soldier and Spectre, Even better than me…. Kaidan Promise me please”.

He kissed her forehead “Of course”

She whispered “And when i am gone, promise me you will find a great woman to settle down with, and have all the kids we could never have”.

Tears started rolling down her eyes, she didn’t want to die, she wanted to have the Big house in vancouver, Get married to the man who is holding her in her arms, have a bunch of kids, and die old, and asleep in their beds, together.

he nodded “You know i can’t do that, your the love of my life, i’d rather not keep that promise Shep”.

Shepard started smiling again “I know…. but i don’t want you to be alone”.

“I love you shepard, more than anything”.

she nodded “Then kiss me”

he did as he was told, kissed her, tears falling from his eyes, he felt her go limp. that when he stopped. More tears fell, he knew she was gone. But he didn’t want to let her go.
