Acrylic paint, with multi coloured sparkles on stretched canvas over a wood frame.
Based on a dream, where I had to scale up the side of a large cliff face to a mesa, at the end of each day.
The top of the mesa, part way up a larger cliff face, looked over a vast area of red desert landscape; filled with mesas of various size and shapes.
The sky was always blue, at night a dark blue, still glowing.
One afternoon I climbed to the top, but something felt different, and it was no longer safe to sleep there. I thought to myself: "There are no snakes or spiders here."; but the danger was an ominous force; not a physical creature. So I had to climb down, as the Sun set, being careful of the way in the dark; when I reached the ground, I woke up.
The stars are painted in a representational sense, ala cave paintings, and Carl Jung's philosophy's on art, and various mushroom trips showing "the reflections of reality"; the idea is to present as much information about stars as possible, in a still image; their formations, movements, and life cycles, along with regular painted point of light stars, and sparkles strewn through out in a tactful fashion, to add the Milky Way type elements.
