Description
Rosso is a miner at the base of Death Mountain and is also one of the Seven Sages descended from those who sealed the Sacred Realm hundreds of years ago before the events of The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. At some point after Rosso gives Link the Power Gloves, he gets kidnapped by the wizard Yuga to achieve his plan to resurrect Ganondorf and got sent at a dungeon in Lorule. After being saved from Lorule's Ice Ruins, Rosso and the other Sages will give Link his Triforce of Courage so he could defeat the Demon King Yuga-Ganon, save Zelda and both worlds.

Due to Rosso's Goron attributes, the Goron Emblem on his belt, his bulky physics, black eyes, Rosso is likely descended from the Sage of Fire, Darunia. He is also thought to be Hylian too.
