I have to say she really captured the right atmosphere for this. Really like how she made his back plates appear to illuminate. Looks exactly like the movie would.

There's a wonderful atmosphere working here; I think it's less something from the gosh-a-wow "Millennium" era, and more of something from the early Showa era, something with a sense of wonder and mystery.
This is impressive! Kudos!

It is. Baragon is so out matched, and yet he keeps trying. And Godzilla is just so relentless.

The all white eyes in this movie were a nice touch. They added to the whole 'possessed by ghost of the dead' feel.
My only gripe was King ghidora. Not used to him being good, or so small compared to godzilla. Still, it's only a minor gripe and didn't really spoil it.

I can't wait to see the new american version. from what i've heard they've tried to stay true and respectful of the Japanese movies (Unlike the 1998 movie)

Yes it looks like it, though it is still cgi

I think it's CGI, yes.
Admittedly though, Toho did use some CGI on Godzilla in some of their later movies. There is an underwater scene in Godzilla vs Megaguirus that is CGI
And i have heard rumors that Toho have a clause that requires the American version to have 'some suitmation', but I have no idea how true that is.

True.
It's funny with Zilla because they did that deliberately to show his (The American version's) inferiority to their Godzilla.
Toho made a lot of jokes at the American film after it came out (Calling him Tuna-head in the american dub of final wars for example).

There was another movie in which they referenced American claiming to have been attacked by Godzilla, and the Japanese government/military dismissed it as the Americans being mistaken, and that it was a different monster (An obvious reference to the 1998 movie). I think that was in Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidora: Giant Monsters All-out Attack
It's interesting that in the 1968 movie, Destroy All Monsters, Godzilla actually attacks New York!
