First of all, congrats on the DD. This has been one of the few I've seen this week that deserve it so flippin' much! This is just breathtaking! I actually kinda blanked out for a moment from seeing this because my brain like overloaded from the sheer epicness of this piece. Sorry, I'm babbling.
I simply love and am in awe of the detail and yet the simplicity. What really wigs me out is how soft the person is, both in line and in color but how jagged the skull is. Which is unusual to see for a skull/skeleton because most would paint it as rounded and smooth and curved because that's what bones are good for. But in the jaggedness of your skeleton, it speaks, well screams really. I usually spend most days drooling over skeletons and completely ignore any other subject that's with them, but somehow, I want to stare at both sides equally. For both are balanced and mirrored elegantly.
The flow of this is wonderful and captivating. I'm a sucker not only for skeletons as mentioned but for flowing hair also. I love how the hair keeps the eye going between the two, much in an endless circle that represents life.
Heh, I really didn't mean to kinda critique this, I mean that wasn't my intention, I just really needed to say something. This is a moving piece, one I know I'm going to keep going back to, to look at. Excellent work. This made my day, and has deeply inspired me.
