Honestly, this design for Mint is up there in my favorites. I hated original Mew Mint's actual outfit, and this is probably close to how I would have designed her for Tokyo Mew Mew.

Story: Ryou's grandson, Itsuki, always loved the stories about Tokyo Mew Mew and dreamed about seeing them fight again. So, when a new threat arrives, he uses his grandfathers research to make five new mews. Finding the grandchildren of the original mews is the easy part, but defeating the monsters will be even more difficult than imagined.

The actual story is that Ryou's grandson is so obsessed with the mews that he uses Chimera DNA to artificially create a new threat. As well, the girls he turns into mews aren't actually related to the originals, they just happen to have the same given name. His best friend, Reo, doesn't know that Itsuki is the one who's creating the monsters, but after he finds out, he is cast as the villain. A group of aliens return to try and thank the group of humans who helped them as well as create an alliance with the earth, but they are cast as the villains toward the mews.

The themes of the story rely on the unreliable narrator and how obsession eventually destroys people. The degrading, incompatible animal DNA in the girls system slowly causes their way of thinking to be warped and they are worn down by the constant monster attacks, and are slowly driven insane.

All the characters are supposed to look like the original mews in their transformed state, while their human forms will be much more unique and individual.
