she first encounters Barok van Zieks as a defendant, claiming to be named Sue Donim, whom he prosecutes. He finds her ahead of trial, and after seeing how scared and sad she is, his soft spot is hit and he gives her his cape as his first cute gesture toward her. After a while, her real name, Hoyeon Sejin, is revealed. She is proven innocent, however, a few months later, van Zieks encounters her in a vineyard. Sejin seems nervous and skittish, her eyes darting. She has a look of guilt in her eyes, and suddenly… *BANG* She pushes van Zieks to the ground and a bullet whizzes past them. She begins to run, grabbing van Zieks’ hand, dragging him along. Eventually they stop and hide in an alleyway. Van Zieks attempts to ask a question but he is immediately silenced when he sees the gang of angry men run past them, assumably their chasers. Sejin peeps out of the alley, and sees that they’ve set her workshop and blacksmithing store aflame, that also being where she lives. She tries to catch up to them, to convict them, but is immediately caught. Threatened by men brandishing pistols and knives, Sejin faints. Van Zieks runs up to find her, and fights the gang off. He brings Sejin back to his home.
