This is an adopt I got from the lovely !Pyrope Garnet
He/him
The first born of Sunburst and Flash Sentry. Pyrope is fairly awkward around other ponies since being social isn't really his element. Like Papa Sunburst, he is often lost in his books and field guides. He spent much his early childhood in the Crystal Empire, then was sent to attend Twilight's School for Gifted Unicorns after he earned his cutiemark. There he studied magic and was able to continue focusing on minerals and their magical properties. After graduating, he returned to the Crystal Empire, though he travels around equestria frequently to find new minerals for his experiments. Pyrope rarely spends anytime indoors as he loves to be out in nature whether it be for hiking or looking for natural gem deposits.
He's always had a love of science and magic, probably something he got from Sunburst. Pyrope often spent his time as a child collecting different rocks and crystals that he could find, or he would purchase special ones with his chore money when he saved up enough. He would take them home and experiment with them, pretending that he was a little scientist or a wizard. Eventually he bagan to wonder. If one crystal or gem has a specific effect, then surely many would have a spectactular reaction! He gathered many of his favorite crystals and gems together and ignited a spark on his horn...and the resulting reaction was certainly amazing. Not only was it beatuiful, but it left Pyrope with a cutiemark (and many pieces of damaged furniture that he had to explain to his parents).
