This is in Olympic National Park, Washington, near the summit. This is another angle of the same snow melt I posted yesterday, but composed differently, so that the entry and exit points of the water are roughly on "thirds". While taking the photo I balanced the two most obvious flowers to opposite sides of the photo, too, roughly on "fourths" vertically and "thirds" horizontally, with the top foliage covering about a third of the top of the photo. It's stuff I learned from a drawing course. The balancing of a composition by using mathematical grids in your mind is supposed to make pictures more attractive. It definitely makes it harder to take fast shots, so far.
